Marta is a Nationally Registered Paramedic, experienced EMS educator, and Program Director at the Rhode Island Community Training Center (RICTC). With a diverse background in emergency medical services, scientific research, healthcare technology, and education, she brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, academic knowledge, and leadership experience to the program.

Marta began her career in emergency medical services in 2018 as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Throughout her career, she advanced her clinical qualifications to the AEMT-Cardiac level and was promoted to the rank of EMS Lieutenant. She subsequently earned her Paramedic licensure and National Registry certification and continues to practice in the field.

Alongside her clinical career, Marta pursued an extensive academic education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from Providence College, as well as a certificate in Anthropology completed while studying in Greece. During her undergraduate studies, she contributed to scientific research that resulted in publication of "Complete Genome Sequence of Escherichia coli ML35," published by the American Society for Microbiology on February 15, 2018. She later earned a Master of Science in Immunology from Drexel University College of Medicine. Her scientific background provides a strong foundation for evidence-based medicine, clinical decision-making, and advanced EMS education.

Marta previously served with the Rhode Island Department of Health's Center for Emergency Medical Services as the State EMS Data Manager and Mobile Integrated Health - Community Paramedicine Program Coordinator. In these roles, she supported statewide EMS initiatives, data quality improvement, and the advancement of community-based healthcare programs. During her tenure, she authored The Mobile Integrated Health - Community Paramedic Guidebook, a resource developed to support the establishment, implementation, and operation of community paramedicine programs. She currently works in the healthcare technology industry for a SaaS company specializing in electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) and data management solutions for EMS/fire/hospital organizations.

Marta has also been an instructor at RICTC since 2020, providing EMS education and hands-on training to students at various stages of their professional development. Her experience in the classroom, combined with her clinical and administrative background, has strengthened her commitment to delivering engaging, practical, and high-quality instruction. She is a certified Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Stop the Bleed instructor, as well as a National Car Seat Technician and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) certified provider.

As Program Director at RICTC, Marta oversees curriculum development, academic standards, regulatory compliance, and student outcomes. She is committed to creating an engaging, supportive learning environment that emphasizes evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and hands-on clinical education. Her passion for EMS education and professional development drives her dedication to preparing the next generation of knowledgeable, confident, and compassionate emergency medical professionals.
