About

PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program at RICTC is designed for individuals seeking to develop essential emergency medical skills and serve as the first line of response during medical and traumatic emergencies. This entry-level program provides students with the knowledge and practical training necessary to recognize life-threatening conditions, perform initial patient assessments, and deliver immediate lifesaving interventions until higher-level medical personnel arrive.

Through comprehensive classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and realistic emergency scenarios, students develop proficiency in patient assessment, CPR and AED use, airway management, bleeding control, trauma care, and basic emergency medical procedures. The program emphasizes scene safety, critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication to prepare students for real-world emergency situations.
